Borough Contracts

Most of Pottstown Borough’s General Fund goes to pay salaries and benefits.

The Borough has separate contracts with its borough manager, assistant manager, police chief, and police captain.

It has also has contracts with its police officers, who are unionized, and its other employees, who are members of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).  Pottstown’s firemen are not borough employees, but either employees or volunteers for the borough's four volunteer fire companies: Empire, Goodwill, Phillies, and North End.

Unlike the School District’s Executive Team administrators, who have fixed contracts for either three or five years, the Borough Manager and Assistant Manager serve at the will of Pottstown Council.
