Pottstown Police

The Pottstown Police Department has its own Web site which can be reached by clicking here.

Among other things, the Web site contains crime statistics from 1993 through 2009.  These statistics are not broken down by ward.  Pottstown has seven wards.

Pottstown Citizens for Responsible Government believes crime statistics should be reported to the greatest level of detail available.

Therefore, the charts on our Web site show crime in Pottstown broken down by ward, and also for an area of Pottstown known as the Washington Street Corridor.

The Washington Street Corridor, which is part of the first ward, is defined as the blocks bounded by Franklin Street on the west, Walnut Street on the north, Warren Street on the east, and Apple Street on the south.  In recent years, this area has accounted for about 9 to 12 percent of the total violent and property crimes in Pottstown.

The crimes shown in the charts are violent crimes and property crimes.

The maps show the location of Pottstown’s seven wards.  The ward lines changed in 2005.
