Crime Statistics - 2009 back to 2000

The Pottstown Police Department reports crime statistics on its Web site, which you can view by clicking here. The Police Department Web site reports crimes through 2009.

However, the police department Web site does not break down crime by ward.

The following charts show crime in Pottstown broken down by ward, and also for an area of Pottstown known as the Washington Street Corridor.  The crimes shown in the charts are violent crimes and property crimes from 2008 going back to 2000.

The map shows the location of Pottstown’s seven wards 2005 to present. (The ward boundaries changed in 2005. Previous boundaries are shown on the next page, which show crimes from 2004 to 2000.)

The Washington Street Corridor is part of Ward 1.

The Washington Street Corridor, which is part of the first ward, is defined as the blocks bounded by Franklin Street on the west, Walnut Street on the north, Warren Street on the east, and Apple Street on the south.  In recent years, this area has accounted for about 9 to 12 percent of the total violent and property crimes in Pottstown.
