Attend Public Meetings

Both Pottstown Council and the Pottstown School Board meet twice a month.  All such meetings are public.  Both bodies have one regular meeting each month, at which votes are taken and public comment is permitted (3-minute limit).   Each group also holds a “Committee-of-the-Whole” meeting for discussion.  Public comment is not permitted at these meetings.

Considering running for office or supporting other candidates.
It’s not easy being an elected official, but these are the people who make the decisions.  There’s nothing wrong with politics – that’s how democracy works.

When Theodore Roosevelt was advised that gentlemen didn’t engage in politics, he replied that “it merely meant the people I knew didn’t belong to the governing class – and I intended to be one of the governing class. If politics proved too hard-bit, I supposed I would have to quit, but I certainly would not quit until I had made the effort.”

NO ANONYMITY HERE

We stand behind the information and commentary provided on this Web site. You will find the name and address of a real person as editor.

We aim to influence civic policy by demonstrating a clear command of the facts, coupled with sound reasoning.

We do not mock or denigrate our fellow citizens.

As the popularity of blogging increases, anonymous Web sites have proliferated across the Internet. They provide fertile ground for dishonesty and abuse. They make it easy for one or two people to pretend to be a multitude of bloggers through the use of numerous fictitious identities. They are tailor-made for those seeking vengeance for political defeats or other grievances.

Here, we hope to appeal to people’s better natures.
